Welcome to the Friends of Barton Aerodrome.

The Friends of Barton Aerodrome aims to support improvements of and to the aerodrome and support local aerodrome events, whilst also providing benefits to Members.

Barton Aerodrome opened in January 1930 as the first municipal airfield in the UK to be licensed by the Air Ministry.  Its Grade II listed Control Tower is the oldest known to be in continuous use since it was built in 1932.  In addition, the original Hangar and the Terminal Building are also listed, Grade II.

The Friends of Barton Aerodrome has been established with the full support of the City Airport Ltd management, who in turn, allow us to provide generous benefits to our Members.
