If you are interested in an Aerodrome Tour please carefully review the information below and if you would like to book a tour please complete the form at the bottom of the page and click the submit button.

On behalf of the Aerodrome Management, Friends of Barton Aerodrome can arrange tours of the Airfield. The tour would be aimed at the specific needs of the group visiting. We are able to handle groups from schools, clubs, groups, aviation enthusiasts and family groups.
Because of Aerodrome operations on the day, and also the size of the group, we cannot guarantee that all parts of the site will be visited but we will always try to include parts that would be most interesting to the group. Areas visited on a tour could include at least some of the following; Grade II Buildings on site, aircraft hangars, Airport Rescue & Fire Service, main aircraft apron, Control Tower and the Heliport.
If the Control Tower cannot be visited due to Operations or the size of the group, we can still provide information on the Aerodrome Operations as part of the tour.
In addition to a tour, our Guides can give information on the Aerodrome History, Operation, how aircraft flies, major parts of an aircraft and details on some of the interesting aircraft based here, again this will be aimed to meet the needs of the visiting group.
The Aerodrome is currently open Monday to Thursday from 9.00am to sunset or 6.00pm (whichever occurs first), on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the closing time is extended to 7.00pm or sunset, again whichever occurs first, hence all tours will need to be within the Aerodrome operational hours.
Please note that for tours of groups of children they must all be aged 8 or above. For family groups we are happy to accept younger children. Generally, tours are for a maximum of 20 people, if you have a large group please contact us and we can review possible options. Normally a fee of £2.00 per head is charged with a minimum total of £10.00 per tour. You are able to pay on the day of the tour based on the actual number on the tour.
Ideally, we request that you give at least 6 weeks notice for any tour and we will be in touch within a few days of a request to arrange your booking.
